Full red morocco with 5 raised bands and title labels. Correct spine, decorated, superficial scuffs. Correct crowns. Dry joints. Correct covers, some rubbing on the edges and corners. 4 cm x 5 mm scuff at the bottom of the second cover of vol. IV (see photos). Gilded edges. Corners a little compressed. Very correct interiors, rare soiling from use.

First edition given by the Elzeviers, of the History of Rome since its foundation of Titus Livius, with the commentaries of the humanist and philologist Daniel Heinsius. It was printed in Leiden by Bonaventure and Abraham Elzevier, who printed in 1645 the 4th volume, devoted to the notes of Johann Friedrich Gronovius.
